One Story. Two EPs. Your Choice.
Music has always fascinated me because the same words can make us feel completely different emotions depending on how they’re delivered.
A quiet acoustic guitar can make you pause and reflect. A soaring electronic anthem can make you feel like you’re ready to take on the world.
That simple idea became the inspiration behind my first two releases.
The Stories We Don’t Tell and The Stories We Don’t Tell: Reimagined contain exactly the same songs, the same lyrics and the same stories. The only thing that changes is the journey they take to reach you.
The words never changed because the stories never changed.
Why I Started Writing
Life has a way of changing us.
Sometimes it happens gradually through the quiet challenges we carry every day. Sometimes it happens in an instant through illness, loss or an unexpected event that changes everything.
Over the past few years I’ve experienced hearing loss, an acoustic neuroma diagnosis and, more recently, a cycling accident that left me with a collapsed lung, broken ribs and a fractured shoulder blade.
Those experiences changed my perspective. They reminded me how many people carry struggles that the world never sees, and how often we keep those stories to ourselves.
Writing songs became an unexpected outlet. Not because I wanted to become a musician, but because sometimes a melody can express something that ordinary conversation never quite manages.
Every track on these EPs comes from a real place.
Some tell my story.
Some are inspired by moments I’ve lived through.
Others reflect emotions that millions of people experience every day but rarely put into words.
If these songs achieve anything, I hope it’s simply this: that someone listening realises they aren’t the only person who has ever felt that way.
The Stories We Don't Tell
The original EP is exactly how these songs were first imagined.
Modern country felt like the perfect home for them.
There’s honesty in acoustic instruments. Space between the lyrics. Room for every line to breathe.
These versions are intimate.
They’re reflective.
They invite you to slow down.
If you’ve ever watched a sunset while gathering your thoughts, driven home in silence after a difficult day or simply needed music that understands instead of distracting you, this EP was made for moments like those.
The Stories We Don't Tell: Reimagined
Then another idea emerged.
What happens if the story stays exactly the same…
…but the music changes completely?
Rather than rewriting a single lyric, I kept every word exactly as it was and rebuilt the songs with cinematic electronic production, uplifting melodies and powerful rhythms.
The result isn’t simply a remix album.
It’s another emotional perspective.
The acoustic versions encourage reflection.
The electronic versions encourage resilience.
One invites you to sit with your emotions.
The other reminds you that tomorrow is still waiting.
Neither is better than the other.
They’re simply two different ways of telling exactly the same story.
Four Songs. Four Stories.
Still Here
Life doesn’t always go according to plan.
Sometimes resilience isn’t about achieving something extraordinary. Sometimes it’s simply about getting through another day and refusing to let life’s hardest moments define who you become.
Whether you’ve faced illness, injury, loss or uncertainty, Still Here is about quiet determination and finding the strength to keep moving forward.
My Right Side’s Quiet
Inspired by living with hearing loss and an acoustic neuroma, this song isn’t about what has been taken away.
It’s about learning to appreciate everything that remains.
Sometimes our greatest limitations quietly become our greatest teachers.
It’s Okay Not To Be Okay
This may be the most important song I’ve written.
Many people carry invisible struggles while convincing the world that everything is fine.
This song is a reminder that strength isn’t pretending.
Strength is allowing yourself to be honest.
No matter which version you hear, I hope it reminds someone that asking for support is never a weakness.
For Once, I Choose Me
Many of us spend our lives putting everyone else first.
Family.
Friends.
Work.
Responsibilities.
Eventually we realise that looking after ourselves isn’t selfish.
It’s essential.
This song is about finding that balance and giving yourself permission to breathe again.
Which Version Will You Choose?
That’s entirely up to you.
If you’re looking for acoustic storytelling, heartfelt lyrics and quiet reflection, begin with The Stories We Don’t Tell.
If you want those same stories wrapped in soaring synths, cinematic production and uplifting electronic energy, start with The Stories We Don’t Tell: Reimagined.
Or better still…
Listen to both.
You might be surprised how differently the same words can make you feel.
More Than Music
These EPs aren’t about perfection.
They’re not about genres.
They’re not about technology.
They’re about stories.
Stories of resilience.
Stories of recovery.
Stories of hope.
Stories about choosing yourself without guilt.
Stories about accepting that life isn’t always easy.
Stories about finding light again after difficult days.
The title, The Stories We Don’t Tell, came from the realisation that almost everyone carries something the rest of the world never sees.
Behind every smile is a story.
Behind every conversation is another one left unsaid.
Perhaps that’s what connects us more than anything else.
Thank You
Whether you choose the country originals or the electronic reimagining, thank you for taking the time to listen.
Creating these songs has been one of the most personal projects I’ve ever undertaken, and sharing them feels a little like opening a journal that was never meant to leave the drawer.
My hope is simple.
If one lyric helps someone feel understood…
If one chorus gives someone hope…
If one song reminds someone they’re stronger than they realise…
…then these stories have found exactly the people they were meant to reach.
